Dolly Parton, born Jan. 19th, 1946 in Locust Ridge Tenn. to a poor family of twelve kids who would grew up together eventually, learned very early how to get out of the difficulties she faced with her extraordinary and imaginative imagination. She was writing songs before she was able to read or write. At the age of 8, she got the first electric guitar she owned and started singing at an Knoxville Tenn Radio Station. In the same year, she recorded her debut album for Gold Band Records an independent small label. Although she was at school, she already established herself locally. But her dream was to be more widely recognized. After she finished her high school, in 1964, she moved to Nashville. Dumb Blonde, Something Fishy and Dumb Blonde both charted on Monument Records in 1967. It was around this time that Porter Wagoner was looking for the next girl to perform on his television show that was syndicated. Parton was brought on in the year was signed to RCA Records by 1968, becoming a member of the Grand Ole Opry. She left the show after 1974 because her solo albums like Joshua Coat of Many Colors and Jolene began charting the collaborations they had with each other. The two split in 1974, Parton wrote the song I Will Always Love You for Wagoner and the song reached Number. 1 for the very first time in 1974.
