
Starting in the mid-1990s, the actor enjoyed a long-lasting time as a regular guest on the sitcom Friends in the role of the love interest of Monica Geller and receiving an Emmy nomination for the role. Selleck was a prominent character in a number of TV movies in the new millennium. This included the Jesse Stone series in which he played a New England police chief. He was also director of the series and was awarded an Emmy nomination for his role. Selleck plays a police officer who is part of a multigenerational family. This role was included in Blue Bloods which debuted on CBS in the year 2010. Selleck eventually made it to the big screen. Along with Ted Danson and Steve Guttenberg the actor was featured in Three Men and a Baby the film that was a hugely popular comedy. It was the top-grossing film ever.
