Selena Gomez

Selena Marie Gomez (/s@'li:n@ 'goUmez/ s@-LEE-n@ GOH-mez born on July 22, 1992) is an American actor, singer, and producer. Gomez's acting career began on the children’s television series Barney & Friends (1902-2004). At the age of a teenager, Gomez became famous for her performance as Alex Russo in the Disney Channel television show Wizards of Waverly Place (1907-2012). Gomez was also part of the television series Another Cinderella Story (2008) and Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie 2009, Ramona and Beezus (2010) and Spring Breakers 2012, Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising (2016). In 2019, she'll appear in The Dead Don't Die (2018). Gomez was also the voice of Mavis in Hotel Transylvania's films from 2012 to 2022. Gomez via July Moon Productions, executive produced 13 Reasons Why (2017-2022) and Living Undocumented (1919). She also stars in the Hulu mystery-comedy series Only Murders in the Building (21-21-222). Gomez was praised by critics for the show as well as nominations for a Golden Globe Award and a Primetime Emmy Award as producer. Gomez was part of Selena Gomez & the Scene and released three albums. Each album was in the top ten spots on the US Billboard 200. They were all certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America. Stars Dance, her debut solo album, was a massive success on the U.S. Billboard 200, and its first single "Come & Take It" made it to the top ten on the US Billboard Hot 100. Gomez's sophomore album, Revival (2015) was released at number one in the US. It was certified platinum by RIAA and spawned three top-ten entries in the US: "Good for You", “Same Old Love", and "Hands to Myself". The third album of her studio, Rare (2020), has been her third consecutive number one album in the US and featured the lead track, "Lose You to Love Me" is her first top-ten hit across the US and Canada. In 2021 she released the Spanish-language EP Revelacion in which she received a nomination for the Grammy Award for Best Latin Pop Album. She has received various accolades and was named Billboard's Woman of the Year in 2017 and also broke fifteen Guinness World Records. Time magazine named Her one of the 100 most powerful people on the planet in 2020. Her social media followers are huge and she is the most popular actress and performer on Instagram.
